All NS train services have been cancelled until at least 5pm due to ‘technical problems’, the state-owned railway company said early on Sunday afternoon.
The disruption also means that actual travel information cannot be shown at stations and the loud speaker systems are not working either.
The problems will also affect travellers who are already on a journey, and they are being advised to look for alternatives.
‘We are working hard at recovery but unfortunately, we cannot say how long this situation will last,’ the company said.
Regional train services operated by Arriva, Keolis and others are still running, although travel information cannot be updated because of the problems, NS said.
