Dutch prime minister has said British Queen Elizabeth is ‘in our prayers’ as concerns intensify over the health of the 96-year-old.
Rutte told Dutch media that he had nothing but praise for the monarch. ‘It is of course very sad news that she is so sick and that there are such great concerns,’ he said, reported the AD. ‘We will just have to wait.
‘She has witnessed so many important moments in the post-war Western world and has contributed to peace, stability, and also a sense of humour,’ he added.
The British Queen is under medical supervision on doctor’ orders, and her children are understood to be at Balmoral. She accepted the resignation of Boris Johnson and appointed Liz Truss as prime minister there on Tuesday.
The BBC has thrown out its programming schedule and parliament was interrupted earlier on Thursday afternoon with a message for the monarch.
